In Memory was conceptualized two days after the horrific news of a shooting on the first day of Chanukah at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia. I was distraught and decided to draw out my response which resulted in 15 leaves in the interior of the piece, representing the 15 who died. A one minute video was made of the doors opening and closing to pay respects to this tragedy. I sense this sculpture is only a model meaning I can visualize it in a much larger scale, in a place where the doors can easily be opened by the viewer.
